Uruguay promotes Armenia as new tourist destination

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has been presented in Uruguay as a new and promising tourist destination, according to the Armenian Embassy in Uruguay.

One of Uruguay's well-known travel agencies, Hiperviajes, announced that it has included Armenia in its list of offers as a new and promising destination.

An event entitled "Armenia: A Must-Visit Destination" was held at the embassy.

During the event, Armenia's Ambassador to Uruguay, Mariam Gevorgyan, addressed the progress recorded in the country's tourism sector, the strategic programs and reforms implemented by the government, as well as Armenia's rich cultural heritage, natural attractions, and diverse tourism opportunities.

The ambassador emphasized that Armenia, with its historical and cultural assets, safety, and developed infrastructure, has generated growing interest among international tourists, also presenting statistical indicators recorded in recent years.

Speeches were also delivered by Hiperviajes Chief Executive Officer Fernando Rivas, Corporate Manager Andrea Bejollio and Sales Manager Eugenia Calvette. They outlined opportunities to visit Armenia, proposed travel routes and tourism packages available throughout the year.

At the conclusion of the event, guests were treated to Armenian cuisine.

Representatives of Uruguay's Ministry of Tourism, the Association of Travel Agencies, more than two dozen companies in the sector, and media outlets attended the event, along with Senator and former Minister of Tourism Liliam Kechichian.
