BUENOS AIRES, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Estudiantes improved their hopes of a top-four finish by cruising to a 5-2 home victory over Barracas Central in Argentina's Primera Division on Friday.
Brian Calderara put the visitors ahead with a low finish but goals from Benjamin Rollheiser, Jorge Rodriguez and Jose Sosa gave the hosts a 3-1 advantage at the interval.
Luciano Lollo extended the lead when he headed home in the 62nd-minute before Facundo Mater nodded in his team's second goal 10 minutes later.
Estudiantes put the result beyond doubt courtesy of another header from Guido Carrillo 14 minutes from time.
The result leaves Estudiantes in fourth place with 35 points from 19 outings, six points behind leaders River Plate, who have a game in hand. Barracas are 16th in the 28-team standings with 22 points.
