14 Jan 2021, 14:22 GMT+10

SAO PAULO, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil internationals Jo, Luan Vieira and Fagner were all on target as Corinthians thrashed Fluminense 5-0 on Wednesday, their fifth straight Brazilian Serie A victory.

Ex-Manchester City striker Jo opened the scoring for the hosts from close range and Ecuadorian playmaker Juan Cazares struck on the counter-attack to make it 2-0 just after half-time.

Full-back Vagner and midfielder Mateus Vital then netted in quick succession before former Gremio forward Luan came off the bench to add another goal in stoppage time.

Corinthians have now won four consecutive matches to move to eighth in the 20-team standings, 14 points behind leaders Sao Paulo with 10 games remaining.

Fluminense, who have lost three of their past four league outings, are seventh - one point ahead of Corinthians.
