SEOUL -- South Korea's industrial output rebounded last month owing to an export recovery, data from the statistical office showed Friday.

BUENOS AIRES -- Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Thursday signed a decree that extends social welfare coverage to one million more children and teenagers.

The government is allocating Universal Child Allowance -- which amounts to 30 billion pesos (about 383.20 million U.S. dollars) -- to expand the program. The allowance contributes 3,540 pesos (about 45 dollars) per child to needy households. (Argentina-Social Welfare Program-Children)

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brazil saw an increase of 313,564 formal jobs in September, the third month in a row of job growth and the strongest monthly result of 2020, the government said on Thursday.

TRIPOLI -- The Foreign Ministry of Libya's UN-backed government on Thursday condemned the knife attack near the Notre-Dame Church in the French city of Nice.

"The Foreign Ministry condemns the attack that took place today at the Notre-Dame Church in the French city of Nice. The Ministry offers its deepest condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives in this attack, and wishes a speedy recovery for those who were injured," the ministry said in a statement. HAVANA -- China and Cuba signed here an agreement on Thursday to extend Chinese language learning among the island's secondary school students as an optional foreign language.

The agreement was signed by Chinese Ambassador to Cuba Chen Xi on behalf of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China's Ministry of Education, and Adalberto Revilla, national director of secondary school at the Cuban Ministry of Education. (Cuba-China-Education)
